Woods for back/sides, braces, heels, fingerboards, and tops, are chosen for their structural and tonal quality. Priority is given to straight-grain well quarter-sawn woods with minimal run-out. As a result, highly figured woods are not chosen. The absence of ornamented wood and its allure is replaced by structural superiority and the elegance of understated straight-grain.
